What is the difference between the GED and HiSET?

Both are accepted in Illinois and cover the same general academic areas.
GED: 4 subtests—language arts, math, science, and social studies. The GED is computer-based.
HiSET: 5 subtests—reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. The HiSET is available on computer or paper.
